Named after the South African ornithologist Austin Roberts, the sanctuary attracts a variety of birds, including several species of water birds, to its two dams. Many birds use the sanctuary in the course of migratory flights. The beautiful crowned crane and the blue crane are regularly seen here. Birds can be viewed from a hide. Guided tours are available.
