The restored Victorian country mansion of the original owner Sammy Marks, industrialist and three times mayor of Pretoria during the time of the Zuid-Afrikaansche Republiek, is well worth a visit. The museum is the only Victorian mansion in the country of which the interior is entirely authentic and preserved intact. Guided tours are available and there is a restaurant and tea garden on the premises.
Address: 23 km from the city centre on the R104 (Old Bronkhorstspruit Road), or off the N4 taking the Hans Strijdom off-ramp and following the signposts.
