The University of Pretoria boasts four museums and two collections.
- Mapungubwe Museum: Housed in the historic Old Arts building, the collection comprises Iron Age artefacts that were discovered in 1933 on Mapungubwe Hill and K2, two exceptionally rich archaeological sites in the Limpopo Valley.

- Van Tilburgh Museum: This collection comprises Far Eastern and other ceramics, antique European furniture, as well as paintings and graphics collected by Jacob Abraham van Tilburg in Holland. After Van Tilburg immigrated to South Africa and settled in Tshwane in 1951, he bequeathed the collection to the University. The museum is located in the Old Arts building.

- Edoardo Villa Museum: Housed in the Old Merensky Library, this collection comprises work of the renowned sculptor Edoarda Villa and is on permanent display here.

- Anton van Wouw Museum: Besides documents, photos and paintings, this collection consists mainly of bronze maquettes and casts of Van Wouw's work. It is housed in the last home and studio of the sculptor Anton van Wouw which now belongs to the University.

- University of Pretoria Art Collection: The University owns an important collection of paintings, sculptures and graphic works by South African and international artists. The collection can be viewed by special appointment only.

- Van Gybland Oosterhoff Collection: This collection consists of objects, publications, memorabilia and photographs related to the Dutch House of Orange and was donated to the University by Dr Horace van Glybland Oosterhoff, a staunch supporter of the House of Orange.
