The Wonderboom Nature Reserve is situated in the northern part of the city and straddles the Magaliesberg mountains. Best known for the 100-year-old wild fig tree (Ficus salicifolia), the reserve also has hiking trails, the ruins of the Wonderboom fort and Iron Age and Stone Age archaeological sites.
Address: Take Paul Kruger / Mansfield Streets (R101) through the Wonderboom Pass and turn right (R101). The reserve will be on your right.
