Major sports facilities and venues in the city include Supersport Park cricket stadium in Centurion - home ground to the Northern Titans and a regular venue for international tests, Loftus Versfeld - home of the Blue Bulls rugby team and the Mamelodi Sundowns football team, the High Performance Centre at the University of Pretoria and Pilditch athletics stadium in Pretoria West.

Runners, cyclists and walkers have an array of races and club meetings that can be attended throughout the year. Most races in Tshwane take place on Saturdays. Klapperkop hill near the Fountains is often used as a training route for these sports disciplines and provides a splendid panoramic view of the city.

Motor sport enthusiasts can indulge in their favorite activity at the Zwartkops Race Track, where go-carting as well as motor racing takes place regularly.

For mountain bikers and hikers there are numerous trails found throughout the city and its surrounds. Golfers can indulge their passion at various courses in the city (see below).

Sport-related conferences, workshops and clinics are held in the city throughout the year because of the ideal weather conditions and height above sea level.
