| The water in Tshwane comes from a variety of sources. Rand Water is the main supplier and supplies about 70% of the total volume of water used by the City of Tshwane. The remainder of the water is supplied by the cities own sources, namely fountains, boreholes and Rietvlei Dam Water Treatment plant at Rietvlei dam. This treatment plant produces 40 million litres of water per day.
